The Big Boss at Marks Lumber, Steve Marks, had the chance to debate forest management policy and the role that serial litigants play in decreasing the effectiveness of forest management initiatives on the MTN program Face the State. The program aired on Sept 24, 2017.

Since Marks Lumber's beginning, Steve has bought logs from responsible foresters. We are just one small mill trying to continue to support responsible forestry that makes all of our lives better. If we continue to lose the capacity of our bigger mills in Montana, we are losing a vital and effective tool. Responsible forestry, including logging, improves wildlife habitat, protects water-sheds, develops recreational opportunities and increases public safety.

Let’s use best forestry practices and modern technology to mimic the effects of natural non-catastrophic fire activity to maintain healthy forests to live in, recreate in, and have less severe fire seasons for the health of all Montanans. Let's use timber products to live better, and enrich the lives of all Montanans.
