Wow, October was a busy month at Marks Lumber! Despite the cooler temperatures, things heated up with the Parade of Homes and two fun events at our lumber mill. Along with our usual milling, planing, sorting and selling we were on the go.

The HBIA VIP Night was a great event with lots of building industry professionals from around the area. This event kicked off the 2019 HBIA Parade of Homes. This year Marks Lumber supplied lumber for many of the homes including a home from Pentecost Builders, which won this year’s People’s Choice Winner. https://www.helenabia.com/parade-of-homes/ For this particular home we supplied timbers, flooring and siding. Sussex Construction and Blue Mountain Builders also used a variety of our lumber in much of their homes.

In getting in the spirit for Halloween, our team had an employee pumpkin carving contest. The creativity displayed by our staff was amazing. Seth Slocum was the top carver with a big smile on his pumpkin.

To round out the month, we hosted the Annual Marks Lumber Open House to celebrate the Montana Forest Products week. With approximately 150 people attending, we were busy. There were lots of tours, food and fun for all. It was wonderful to share our knowledge with so many great people from around the state of Montana.
