Montana Forest Products Week Oct 21-27
In 2011, the Montana Legislature established that the third week in October would honor our forest products industry as a way to extend its appreciation to the industry for providing locally made wood products, stewardship of our private and public forests, and gainful employment.
In support of Montana Forest Products Week, Marks Lumber, 30 Lump Gulch in Clancy will be hosting its 2nd annual mill tour and customer appreciation day on Friday, October 26th from 10 am – 2 pm. A free lunch will be provided.
The tour will give people the opportunity to watch as the log is de-barked, then fed to the sawyer to process into timbers and full dimension rough lumber on the head rig. See how the lumber is dried in the kiln and then produced into flooring, and siding. Also, see the variety of by-products that ensure nothing is wasted.
