It’s been a long, cold winter in Clancy—but with the warming weather, it’s getting to be landscape season and Marks Lumber has the bark sorting plant cranking. Another Marks Lumber all-rounder, Clancy Marks, has been knocking out some machinery improvements and finding his own groove running "the Octopus".
Marks Lumber has bought raw bark from the R-Y Timber, Inc. Mill in Townsend, MT--and is sorting it by size: Fines (< 3/8 in), Small (3/8 - 1 in), Medium (1- 1 1/2 in), Large (1 1/2 - 2 1/2 in), and Oversize (2 1/2 in. +). Right now we are sorting about 450 yards of Raw Bark a day, so we will have bark products for everyone.
We will sell this sorted bark bagged and in bulk, and will also make soil conditioner from the fines; and coming soon…compost.
Buying our bark in bulk is a cost effective and ecologically sound way to create awesome landscaping.
